Stop the Negative

Description

God, it's been so long since my last colored piece. Happy to finally get one in. I don't even want to think about how long this took me.
Just REALLY REALLY long. :iconenglandcryplz:

So this piece is about how we should stop the negative thinking.

We tend to put ourselves down by thinking about the bad or worst things that can happen, and when we do that, we tend to blow it out of proportion too. I am guilty of that I admit. Guess we're only human. So, he's using the gun to blow out the negative--represented by the black--and it is now slowly flowing out from his head. The piece is also split between black and white, with the white pushing the black out.

Critiques are welcome! :aww:
Let me know what needs work.

From a far distance, I thought that this was another one of your sketches because it's just black and white. LOL! Didn't think you would do a monochromatic black/white cg, but it turned out pretty good. Just reminds me of Persona a lot even though I know nothing about that game. I really like the flowy feel to it. That looks great. Nice use of texture. It really makes it look like watercolor or something.

I don't know why but for some reason it looks like he's holding the gun with his pinky instead. Or the hand looks a little bit weird. Not sure how to explain it well. Perhaps his middle finger should be more parallel with the gun and the pointy finger more angled upwards. I like how you colored the knuckles though.

Awesome job!!! :D
